Onze comfortabele appartement op de 1e verdieping is gelegen in Stresa, de "parel" van het Lago Maggiore, en is de ideale uitvalsbasis voor het verkennen van de omringende meren (s), de Alpen, alsook de steden Milaan en Turijn. We zijn letterlijk op 5 minuten loopafstand van het centrum van de stad, die tal van bars, restaurants, winkels, alsmede de veerboot terminal om toegang te krijgen tot het hele meer. Een auto is echt niet nodig hier!
45 minuten vanaf Malpensa Airport, Stresa is gemakkelijk bereikbaar met de bus, taxi of trein belangrijkste lijn aangesloten op de Eurostar-netwerk.
Ons appartement is goed ingericht en bestaat uit een dubbele slaapkamer, woonkamer, slaapkamer met tweepersoonsbed, keuken, badkamer, balkon en de hal. Zeer ruim voor stellen, wij kunnen faciliteiten voor een jong gezin op aanvraag bieden. We zijn niet geïnteresseerd in grote groepen!
Het appartement prijzen zijn volledig inclusief zonder "optionele extra's".
Stresa is een buitengewoon mooie historische stad, en het is makkelijk te zien waarom het bekend is geworden als de parel van het meer. Er zijn vele bars, en restaurants, diverse specialistische winkels op gebied van eten en wijn, een kleine supermarkt en een aantal lokale kunst- en ambachtelijke winkels. Winkelen wordt aanbevolen in Arona of Intra, beide op minder dan een half uur rijden afstand, of per veerboot te bereiken zijn.
Stresa is gebouwd aan de kant van de berg Mottarone, die op 1500m een fantastisch uitzicht over de Alpen biedt tot aan de Mont Blanc en Monte Rosa, en omlaag over de Po-vallei naar Milaan. Lago Maggiore is de grootste van de Italiaanse meren, en waarschijnlijk de minst ontdekt. Met haar noordelijke einde in Zwitserland, is het meer een ongelooflijke variëteit aan landschappen en natuur van hoge de besneeuwde Alpen tot aan het platteland ten noorden van Milaan.
Het is de ideale uitvalsbasis voor verkenning Meren 'Lago Maggiore, het meer van Orta en het meer van Mergozzo evenals de bergen rond de Ossola vallei in de aanloop naar de Simplon pas, de oudste spoorpas in de Alpen. Er zijn een aantal fantastische routes om te wandelen of klimmen. De Monte Rosa is Europa's tweede hoogste top en het "Val Grande" Nationaal Park is het grootste wildernis gebied in West-Europa.
Een netwerk van veerboten biedt toegang tot het meer met uitstapjes die leiden naar bijvoorbeeld Locarno aan het hoofd van het meer in Zwitserland, de wereldberoemde Borromeo eilanden Isola Bella, Pescatori en Isola Madre en natuurlijk de talrijke plaatjes aan het meer. Er zijn drie botanische tuinen met inbegrip van een prachtige tuin op Isola Madre. Stresa heeft een lange traditie van klassieke muziekfestivals. Stresa is ook ideaal gelegen voor de besteding van een dag in Zwitserland of Milaan - de winkelstraten hoofdstad van de wereld.
De heuvels van Novarra, vrijwel onbekend en op slechts een half uur rijden, zijn zeer de moeite waard. U kunt hier een bezoek brengen aan de lokale wijngaarden.
Our comfortable 1st floor apartment is located in Stresa, the “pearl” of Lake Maggiore, and is ideal base for exploring the surrounding lake(s), the Alps, as well as the cities of Milan and Turin. We are literally a 5 minute walk from the town centre, providing numerous bars, restaurants, shops as well as the ferry boat terminal to access the entire lake. A car really isn’t necessary here!
45 minutes away from Malpensa Airport, Stresa can be easily reached by bus, taxi or main line train connected to the Eurostar network.
Our apartment is well appointed and comprises of a double bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, balcony and entrance hall. Very spacious for couples, we can provide facilities for a young family on request. We’re not interested in “shoehorning” large groups!
The apartment prices are fully inclusive with no “optional extras”, and we provide all essential items “to get you started”.
Stresa is an extraordinarily beautiful historic town, and it’s easy to see why it has become known at the pearl of the lake. There are many bars, and restaurants, several specialist food and wine shops, a small supermarket and several local arts and craft shops. Shopping is recommended at Arona or Intra, both of which are less than a half hour drive away, or by ferry.
Stresa is built on the side of Mont Mottarone, which at 1500m provides fantastic views of the Alps up to Mont Blanc and Monte Rosa, and down over the Po valley to Milan. Lake Maggiore is the largest of the Italian lakes, and probably the least discovered. With its northern end in the Switzerland, the lake has an extraordinary variety of landscapes and scenery from the high snow capped Alps to the rolling country side north of Milan.
It is ideal base to explore Lakes’ Maggiore, Orta and Mergozzo as well as the mountains accessed from the Ossola valley leading up to the Simplone pass, the oldest rail pass in the Alps. There are some fantastic walking, climbing and hiking opportunities. Very much “off the beaten track”, Monte Rosa is Europe’s second highest peak, and the "Val Grande" National Park is the largest wilderness area in Western Europe.
A network of ferries provides access to the lake with trips leading to Locarno at the head of the Lake in Switzerland, the world famous Borromeo Islands and the numerous lake side towns to explore. There are three botanical gardens including one on Isola Madre, and Stresa has long tradition of classical music festivals. Stresa is also ideally located for spending a day in Switzerland or Milan - the shopping capital of the world.
The Novara hills are practically unknown outside of this area, and at only a half hour drive away, are well worth a visit to the local vineyards.
